About The Event

Soldering is one of the most involved and difficult parts of jewelry fabrication. Over the course of two days, you will learn about the Smith jewelry torch system, different types of flame, solders, annealing, and metals. You'll learn the difference between Pick, Chip and Stick soldering methods and master bezels, jump rings, small decorative spheres. Learn for yourself how heat moves and how solder actually work. There will be heavy emphasis placed on fussy fitting so you can understand how accurate connections are made. Student will be practice several samples to solder at their own pace and learn how connections are made.

This class is not designed to make things, but rather give you the confidence and skill to fabricate your own work and feel confident in taking workshops where soldering is involved.

*Previous Soldering experience required

Materials Provided:
 Students will be provided with solder, copper, brass, sterling, all sterling findings. Plus, a special titanium solder pik. --$75 value--

What to Bring:

Notebook, magnifying glasses or reading glasses if necessary. Students are encouraged to bring any piece of jewelry that they wish to solder or had problems in prior attempts. Extra metal and solder will be available for purchase. Photos and video are permitted, if proper credit is attributed to the instructor.
